Word of Thanks ... This entry was posted on 6/2/2007 1:17 PM and is filed under Ramblings.  Reaching for the sky with Big D! Club ... There really aren't words that I can use at this time to describe my feelings from Thursday evening and all that went on. I was blown away by each and every speech given by the slate of candidates for office. Their use of humor and they way they nailed their new job description was amazing. We had an excellent turnout and again, a good number of guests. It was to be our last night at the Double Tree for two weeks due to remodeling of our facilities. It is going to be exciting to see what they do to spruce things up. I will be posting a map and a description on how to get to our meeting place this coming week. I hope that the members of Big D! Club realize the quality of work and forethought put into our officer election proceedings by our own John Sessions. For a number of weeks now, John has worked tirelessly behind the scenes by instructing our newer members in the intricacies of putting together a slate of nominees for the club and in showing how it is done. Katherine Gean and I appreciate how he helped us smooth the process. I look back at the ones who have presided over this prestigious club and I am humbled that I have been chosen to lead. I outlined my thoughts and plans for this coming six months and we will just have to see how well that is done farther on down the road. However, I am dedicated to building on what those who have gone on before have left for us. And, I know that Eric, Hut, Bryan, Katherine, Angelo, and Kathy are on the same page with me. We are excited about the opportunity to serve you and Big D!Club. We only ask that you come along with us, working along side us, building on the foundation that has already been laid. |
