We Honor Our Fallen Soldiers on Memorial Day ...

We started the meeting at 6:40 PM. Neetu called the meeting to order, followed by an inspirational welcome from Tingting Li. Sherry was the Toastmaster and she chose "Memorial Day" as the evening's theme. How timely and appropriate! Jagadeesh led a short business session. Elizabeth read out the secretary's report in Angelo's absence. John Sessions updated the members about two things: a) our meeting place on June 7th, and, b) details on the Officer Installation party. John was also the motivator of the meeting and he talked about why everyone should attend the upcoming officers election meeting. This was followed by interesting table topics from Terese.

After the break, prepared speeches were given by Eric Dyson on how to be a good evaluator, Greg Jenkins on his experiences driving the luxury motor home and Danni Babik on the Presidents Distinguished Club program. While Eric helped us in becoming good evaluators, Greg made us laugh out heartily and Danni inspired us to go and get the PDC award for Big D. Ping Gui was the general evaluator and the individual evaluations were led by Hut Carspecken (Eric), Jim Wolff (Greg) and Joannie Esparza (Danni). John Sessions was also the parliamentarian that evening. While Elizabeth Cook recorded the timing and counted votes, and Dee Frazier counted the "Ahs", Jagadeesh looked for the grammar. The word of the day was "commemoration". We had three guests: Debbi - our area governor who is going on a trip to Sudan, Truman - Terese's son and Renita who visited us for the first time. There was no unfinished business and we ended the meeting at 8:34 pm.
