This past Thursday evening at the Big D! Toastmasters Club, the theme was ROME! We didn't have a toga party but we did have a good time.

Greg Jenkins was Toastmaster and presented an entertaining program inspired by the HBO series ROME. Jagadeesh Krishnan did a good job of filling the Table Topics position. Those with prepared speeches were Neetu Agarwal (Selecting a Digital Camera), Danni Babik (The Wolf, the Otters, and the Fish), and Ping Gui (The Wonders of the Modern World).

Cliff Hutchinson was the General Evaluator; Jim Wolff evaluated Neetu, Paul Carter evaluated Danni Babik, and Dr. Brucks evaluated Ping Gui. Our Grammarian was Kathy Toler, Parliamentarian was Jim Wolff, and the Ah-Counter was handled by Katherine Gean. The Word of the Day was NE PLUS ULTRA.

The award for Best Table Topics was given to Paul Carter for his take on naming a new Pope. Best Prepared Speech for the evening was to one of our newer members, Ping Gui. Best Evaluator ribbon went to Paul Carter and the Big D! Toastmaster of the Evening was Cliff Hutchinson.

We received three new members. What a great evening. If you are browsing this web site, looking for a Toastmasters club to visit, then I encourage you to come be with us this Thursday evening at 6:30pm. Our location and address is listed at the top of this blog. We would love to meet you.
