Making the connections ...

It really doesn't amaze me anymore ... it used to ... but it doesn't anymore!

What am I talking about? Finding people through the Internet, that's what. Just twice now in the last week, someone has "Googled" (that means they have used a search engine to search the Internet for someone or something) a name and that search brought them to our blog page.

For instance, a comment was posted on our web site stating, "I can't believe it! I Googled 'Tony Brucks' and your web site popped up. Can you please give him my email address and ask him to contact me?" When I passed on that message to Tony, he couldn't believe it. He said it had been at least ten years since they had talked. Tony was elated and was headed home to contact his friend.

Just today I got a message from the web site of a person looking for Sonya and had found her by "Googling" Sonya's name. She wanted me to pass her message on to Sonya which I did.

Now that's just two happy endings I can tell you about. I am sure there are some unhappy endings, too! For instance, someone typed in Snicker in nose Texas, and I don't know why, but Google sent them to our web site. For the life of me I am still trying to figure that out. Someone else typed in Cliff XXX porn and they wound up at the Big D Blog. I know they were disappointed. Now I'm a little bit concerned about Cliff.

I will share with you from time to time some of the visits we get; some have already brought us new members, some have had a good time just reading the posts, and other come searching for ... oh, well .... they come searching. By the looks of my server logs, they don't stay very long.
