Thanks to Jagadeesh and Adam for sending me the minutes and notes of Thursday evening's activities so I can put them up for you. I am still trying to work on a happy medium; I don't want them to be tedious but I realize that those who weren't there want to know what happened. So ... here we go.

Jagadeesh  presided over the business meeting and the club voted to receive Joanie Esparza as our newest member. John Sessions was the Toastmaster and the theme was "Superbowl." Danni inspired us and drew an analogy betwee the Big D contestants and the Superbowl contestants. Elizabeth motivated us with the "Philosophy of 212 degrees." Our Table Topics Master, Ryan McCollum, threw some interesting questions out on the floor.

After the break, the prepared speeches were given by the following:

* Ben Grupert on "Fear."
* Katherine Gean (Ice Breaker) — "From Mexico to Maine"
* Benjamin Vincent — "Success Leadership Program"
* Paul Carter — "Sermon Preparation"

Just a quick note ... Benjamin Vincent completed his Advanced Toastmaster Silver with tonight's speech. Jim Wolff was the general evaluation. The individual evaluators were Kathy Toler for Ben, Diane Warden for Katherine, Rosa Temengil for Benjamin, and Jagadeesh for Paul. Danni did double duty as Grammarian and Parliamentarian. Tony was the Ah-counter and Adam took care of the vote counting and timing.

Finally, the ribbons were distributed as follows; Best Table Topics went to Tony Brucks, Best Speaker to Paul Carter, Best Evaluator to Jagadeesh Krishnan, and Big D award to Danni Babik. We had four guests; Tereesh and her son Truman (she is a former member), Hutson Carspecken (2nd time), and Ross Govind.

The Word of the Day was EPHEMERA but that was just a passing thing!
