You meet some of the best people at a Toastmasters meeting. I tried a little experiment tonight (scroll down to the previous post). I knocked out a quick post to this blog at 5:40pm as I was leaving the house for our meeting. I just wanted to see if it generated any response.

Of course, I was thinking of current members who might be wobbling on the fence to get out for our last official meeting of the year ... well, I sure was fooled. I watched as a young lady came into the room and she was met and greeted by all. Someone walked her over to where I was sitting and suggested that I might be of some help to explain our proceedings.

In talking with her, I found her name to be Katherine and that she actually was home reading my most recent post and decided to come on over! Imagine that. She had wanted to come last week but the weather shut us down. But she decided to check the web site today and was encouraged to attend. Welcome, Katherine!

We also had a second-time visitor, Edward, who lights up the room with his smile. Our own John Sessions remarked, as he not so gently chided us for NOT signing up for the party, that Edward and his wife had already committed and asked what was wrong with the rest of us?

We had a great night ... down a little bit in number ... but a great night, nonetheless! I'll report on the speakers, activities, and ribbons tomorrow morning at 6am. Set your alarms!
